Bengaluru: A stunning weekend showcase by PMJ Jewels celebrated South Indian tradition with over 10,000 exquisite designs, anchoring the brand’s deep connection to bridal and milestone moments.

Jewellery in South India is rarely just adornment; it is a tapestry of heritage, a marker of milestones, and a physical embodiment of blessings. This past weekend, Bengaluru witnessed a spectacular celebration of this very ethos as PMJ Jewels, a name synonymous with fine craftsmanship for over six decades, unveiled a luxurious studded jewellery display. The event, which drew an impressive crowd of over 700 visitors, served as both a showcase of breathtaking design and a reinforcement of the brand’s deep-rooted presence in the region.

With 41 stores across South India, including seven in Bengaluru, the Hyderabad-based jeweller transformed the venue into a treasure trove. A staggering 10,000 designs were on display, offering a dazzling journey through India’s artistic traditions. The collection spanned from contemporary brilliant-cut diamonds and vibrant coloured gemstones to the timeless allure of traditional polki and ornate temple jewellery masterpieces. Rich jadau and Kundan sets, crafted with meticulous detail, sat alongside elegant pieces designed for festive gatherings and cherished family occasions.

The ‘Pavitram’ Promise

At the heart of the showcase was a special preview of the ‘Pavitram’ Collection, a new bridal line designed to embody purity, sanctity, and heritage. More than just jewellery, the collection is conceived as a symbol of matrimonial sanctity, with each piece intended to represent tradition, elegance, and the sacred blessings of a wedding. This collection, now available across all Bengaluru stores, highlights the brand’s focus on creating pieces that become family heirlooms.

This commitment to heritage was echoed in the showcase’s emphasis on the Vaddanam, the traditional Kammarband, which was presented in reimagined designs that celebrate classic craftsmanship.

We are rooted in culture, and we have a strong and intimate relationship with the Telugu and South Indian diaspora across the country and the world,” commented Kushal Kankaria, Chairman of PMJ Jewels. “All our collections continue to focus on tradition, on jewellery that becomes a part of a family’s heritage. We are proud to bring our heritage-rich collections to Bengaluru.”

Celebrating Life’s Milestones

While the bridal pieces were a major draw, PMJ’s showcase also shone a spotlight on its signature offering: the half-saree jewellery collection. The half-saree ceremony is a profoundly significant milestone in South Indian culture, marking a girl’s transition into womanhood. For 60 years, PMJ Jewels has been a trusted partner in celebrating this occasion, and the collections on display reflected this deep understanding.

From intricate waist-belts and delicate necklaces to matching bangles, the designs honour cultural customs while catering to modern tastes. “I am truly honoured to unveil this opportunity to bring our legacy and craftsmanship closer to the discerning brides and families of Bengaluru,” said Dinesh Kankaria, MD of PMJ Jewels. “It is our hope that each creation will inspire joy, preserve memories, and hold a timeless place in the hearts of those who wear them.”

This event was more than a display; it was a statement. It solidified PMJ’s evolution from its founding in 1964 by Sri P. Manoharlal Jain to a third-generation brand that reaches from India to the United States. As it aims to become a one-stop shop for all jewellery needs, from daily wear to opulent bridal sets, PMJ Jewels proves that true luxury lies in honouring tradition.
