Bengaluru: Aryan Khan has officially made his long-awaited directorial debut with The Badass of Bollywood, and the release of its teaser has set the internet ablaze. The son of superstar Shah Rukh Khan, Aryan has been in the public eye for years, but with this project he steps into the industry in his own right. What immediately caught the audience’s attention was not just the boldness of his vision but also how uncannily he resembles his father—his voice, poise, and mannerisms mirroring Shah Rukh Khan so closely that fans joked he looks like he is copying the King of Bollywood. Social media was quick to draw comparisons, with comments ranging from “same to same SRK” to “beta pura baap pe gaya hai,” underscoring how the legacy of charisma runs deep in the Khan family.

The teaser, which dropped on August 17, opens with Aryan himself reciting the unforgettable lines from Mohabbatein: “Ek ladki thi deewani si, ek ladke pe vo marti thi, nazrein jhuka ke…” But just as audiences are lulled into nostalgia, he delivers an irreverent twist: “…aur achanak ek truck aaya aur usse kuchal gaya.” With that cheeky subversion, Aryan signals the tone of his debut—darkly comic, satirical, and unafraid to poke fun at Bollywood’s own tropes.

Featuring Bobby Deol, Lakshya, Sahher Bambba, Mona Singh, and Raghav Juyal, the series promises to peel back the glittering veneer of the industry and expose its chaos, absurdities, and contradictions. Written by Aryan alongside Bilal Siddiqi and Manav Chauhan, and produced under Red Chillies Entertainment, The Badass of Bollywood positions Aryan not only as a director but also as a creator willing to critique the very world he grew up in.

The response has been electric. Within hours of its release, industry veterans like Karan Johar praised Aryan’s vision and predicted the series would break new ground on the OTT space. Fans, meanwhile, are caught between nostalgia and curiosity—marveling at his striking resemblance to Shah Rukh Khan while also acknowledging that Aryan is attempting to chart a path of his own.

Streaming soon on Netflix, the series has no confirmed release date yet, but anticipation is mounting fast. With a full trailer expected on August 20, Aryan Khan has already succeeded in turning his debut into one of the year’s biggest entertainment talking points. This is not just a first step into Bollywood, it’s a cultural moment where the weight of a legacy collides with a daring new voice—one that echoes Shah Rukh Khan unmistakably, yet also seeks to carve out a fresh, irreverent narrative of its own.
