Bengaluru: The countdown to the 10th edition of the Celebrity Cricket League has begun, and the nation’s top actors are poised to step into the cricket arena with bats in hand starting February 23. As part of this, CCL was officially launched yesterday with a promo release in Dubai, displayed on the Burj Khalifa. People were thrilled at the sight. Captains of all the eight teams CCL superstars, including Kiccha Sudeep from Kannada, Sohail Khan from Hindi, Arya and Jeeva from Tamil cinema, Taman and Sudhir Babu from Telugu, Jissu Sengupta from Bengali, Bunnu Dhillon and Sonu Sood from Punjabi, Indrajith Sukumaran and Unni Mukundan from Malayalam, were present at the promo launch event.
Vishnu Vardhan Induri, the founder, and managing director of CCL, emphasized that CCL is an entertaining sport, and all the stars manage to squeeze in cricket amidst their busy schedules.
‘I was previously at the Burj Khalifa for a movie. But being here now for cricket is something special and unforgettable,” said Kiccha Sudeep.
The 10th season of CCL commences on February 23 and extends until March 17. The league round runs until March 10, with 16 matches scheduled for this phase. Subsequently, the playoff round will commence, beginning with the opening match held in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, where Mumbai Heroes and Kerala Strikers will face off.
Jio Cinema, India’s popular OTT platform, announced its collaboration with the Celebrity Cricket League (CCL). As part of this partnership, the tenth season of Celebrity Cricket League will be exclusively broadcast live on Jio Cinema. CCL stands out as India’s unique attempt to merge sports and entertainment.
Eight teams, featuring superstars from eight Indian film industries, will compete for the title on the cricket field for 24 days at five locations in India, including the UAE. Three matches of the league will take place in Sharjah, UAE, after which the league will shift to India. The remaining matches will take place in five Indian cities: Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Thiruvananthapuram, and Vizag. Double-header matches are scheduled for weekends, two matches per day.

Salman Khan serves as the brand ambassador for Mumbai Heroes, with Riteish Deshmukh as the captain, and Sohail Khan as the owner. Venkatesh is the brand ambassador for the ‘Telugu Warriors’ team, captained by Akhil Akkineni. Kiccha Sudeep leads the ‘Karnataka Bulldozers’ team, while Captain Indrajith heads the ‘Kerala Strikers’ team, co-owned by Mohanlal. Manoj Tiwari captains the ‘Bhojpuri Dabangg’ team, Sonu Sood captains the ‘Punjab De Sher’ team, and Jissu Sengupta captains the ‘Bengal Tigers’ team, owned by Boney Kapoor.”
