EditorKarnataka girl, Sini Shetty received a heart-warming welcome in Bangalore with great flourish and acclamation after winning the prestigious Femina Miss India World 2022 pageant, outperforming 30 fellow finalists, at the grand finale event held in Mumbai. On winning the title, Sini was gratified with a lifetime opportunity to represent India at the Miss World contest, in anticipation to bring the coveted crown back home.

Sini’s roots are from Karnataka, the state where ethnicity and ancestry converge, and credits the customs and culture of the region, with shaping her immeasurably. The 21-year-old is a graduate in accounting and finance and was subsequently hired by a marketing firm as a product executive. She is best described as a curious learner, ambitious, compassionate, and a confident go-getter, who carries her passion with a headstrong attitude towards achieving her goals.
Sini was raised in a traditional, close-knit family and draws strength and courage from her parents, who have lent unconditional support and cooperation towards her journey in Mis India. She holds a deep affinity for dance and had developed an interest when she was as young as four years, and by the time she was 14, she had completed her Arangetram in Bharatanatyam. During the pandemic, her passion for the art form turned her into a budding instructor and choreographer.
Talking about her volunteering experience, she has worked with the Rotaract Club and actively participated in donation camps. In her recent meeting with the honorable Chief Minister of the state, she expressed her keen desire to lead women empowerment initiatives and support the government campaign, around this space, in the best capacity. She holds the iconic businesswoman, Kiran Mazumdar-Shah as her role model, and is fond of the ace film-maker, Imtiaz Ali. In addition to her current pursuits in the fashion and modeling space, she aspired to play a lead role in a blockbuster Hindi film, and build a career in the entertainment world.

Addressing the media at a press conference held at Hilton Bangalore Embassy GolfLinks, who played the perfect host to the event, the newly crowned Miss India said, “It is truly a surreal feeling to come back home and uphold not only my parents’ pride but the city’s glory as well. Feels like my dreams have come true. I aspire to do my best to represent India at Miss World, while also enjoying the journey and hard work it takes to be there.”
