Nada Sambhrama This Weekend In Bengaluru At JSS Auditorium

Bengaluru: The Nadathur Foundation is organizing “Nada Sambhrama,” a concert series dedicated to promoting and celebrating the rich tradition of Indian classical music. This event series aims to showcase exceptional talent, fostering cultural appreciation and providing a platform for both established and emerging artists.

The concert series will be inaugurated by a special Navratri concert by Vidwan Sikkil Gurucharan.

Vidwan Sikkil Gurucharan is a leading musician and a youth ambassador for Carnatic music. A prime time artist during the Chennai music season and a recipient of numerous awards including the prestigious Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar Award, Kalaimamani, Shankukha Sironmani, a TOP grade recognition from All India Radio among many, Gurucharan has not only made a mark in the traditional concert paddhati style but also worked to broaden audience appeal by creating collaborative projects with world renowned musicians while retaining the spirit of the art form. In 2015, Gurucharan received a Nehru-Fulbright Excellence Award, and was in residence at UC Davis between January and April 2015.

The album “Miles from India”, a collaborative effort, was nominated for the Best Contemporary Jazz Album at the 51st Grammy Awards. The magazine India Today featured him among 35 Game Changers under the age of 35 in India. The Tamil Nadu Government conferred its highest honour of Kalaimamani on Gurucharan in 2020. He has also been part of two feature films Sarvam Thaala Mayam and Putham Pudhu Kaalai.

Vidwan Mathur R Srinidhi is the Disciple of Vidwan Sangeetha Vidya Sagara, Vidwan R.R. Keshavamurthy and Vidwan R.N. Tyagarajan. He was awarded the Ananya Yuva Puraskar in 2013 from Ananya Bangalore and ‘ Lalitha Kala Suma’ from Sri Rama Lalitha Kala Mandira, Bangalore. He has accompanied many stalwarts in the music industry and has travelled across the globe for music concerts.

Vidwan Sri K U Jayachandra Rao, a star in the world of Indian rhythm today, hails from a musical family. He had his initial training from late. Vid. Sri Trichur E. P. Narayana Pisharady and pursued his advanced training from Vid. Sri. Palakkad T. S. Rajamani (son of the legendary mridangam maestro Sri. Palakkad Mani Iyer). Having been in the field of music for more than 40 years, he is very well known and also has collaborated with many international musicians from various countries and various genres and has represented the nation on several occasions. He is the recipient of many awards from prestigious organisations.

Vidwan Vazhappally R Krishnakumar, an A grade artist of All India Radio Thiruvananthapuram, Vid. Krishnakumar has studied under esteemed gurus such as Vidwan Sri Vazhappally Chellappan master, Vidwan Sri.Cherthala R Jayadev, and Vidwan Dr Suresh Vaidyanathn Chennai.

Vid. Krishnakumar has accompanied many well-known artists in Carnatic Music and travelled around the globe for musical performances.
