Christmas lunch sorted! Special menus in Bengaluru bring you the best roast chicken and eggnogs

It is the holiday season! Christmas is one of the most fun moments of the complete year. Christmas in India now has a different face, now. Not just one community but everyone has started celebrating. With waking up to the joy of decorating a Christmas tree and the excitement of looking for a recipe for a perfect roast chicken or turkey, let’s keep the Christmas celebration going. Most of us I’m sure cannot roast that perfect Chicken and bake that amazing rum cake. So why worry? Many restaurants across Bengaluru have curated special Christmas Menus. And, I have some of the best listed here.

Raahi, Neo Kitchen & Bar

has a special Christmas menu from the 19th -25th of December 2020.

Starters – Textures of Pumpkin, thyme & Young Pea Panacotta with Mesclun Lettuce and Poached cherry tomatoes, Compressed Watermelon with saffron poached pears with Whipped Feta, Tofu & Kimchi Bao, Sweet Potato Fries, Sous-vide cooked chicken rice poke bowl, Pulled chicken Slider, Green Apple Coleslaw, Bacon wrapped sausages, Olive Tapenade, Minced Lamp Falafel with green pea Hummus, Gondhoraj Fish Tikka with Kaffir Lime glaze and Mint Chutney.

Mains: Silken tofu with Asian green with steam rice, Amritsari Soya chaap curry with Amritsari kulcha, Kadai paneer with charred onion and garlic naan, Nepalese spicy noodles with soya mince, chicken and mushroom risotto with grilled portabello, Confit of chicken leg with winter veggies, Kashmiri Mirchi Korma with Lavasa and Pan Seared Indian Salmon with Duo of Quinoa and Lemon butter sauce

Desserts: Aged Plum & Dry fruit cake (Christmas special), Rum & Raisin Bars, Strawberry Jam Cheesecake, Exotic Lemon curd tarts with choco chip cookies, and Pineapple & Hazelnut Swiss rolls.

Sly Granny’s

kickin’ off the festive season with a new menu and this will be on till the 5th of January 2021

The food has an interesting selection of Small Plates and Large Plates.

The Small plates have Balsamic Figs and Curly Kale salad, Cinnamon scented roasted Pumpkin soup, Sweet Potato and Gruyere Croquettes, Pulled Pork and Mushroom Croquettes and Turkey and green leaf salad.

The Large plates have Truffled Cauliflower Risotto, Morel Gnocchi, Slow-cooked Chicken, Fettucine, Pepper crusted Tenderloin, Braised Pork Belly, Roast Turkey Porchettas and Lamb Shank braised with red wine.

The cocktails are not too far behind with Purple Sin, Spiced Apple Pie, A very Vodka Christmas, Snow Capped Sour, Granny’s special Eggnog, and Mulled wine.

Desserts have Plum Cake with vanilla icecream, Mince Fruit Pie, Sticky Banana Boudin. They have special Christmas bread such as Stollen Bread, Panettone, Gugelhupf bread.

The Reservoire,

the cocktail bar, and kitchen in Koramangala has a special Christmas menu from the 18th – 28th of December 2020. 

Salads include Beetroot Apple Salad – (Fresh blanched beetroot and apple dressing with yogurt mayo), Fajita Grilled chicken Salad – (Fajita marinated chicken grilled, tossed with color bell pepper, mix lettuce, corn, and onion).

Starters Veg include Artichoke and Spinach Bruschetta – (Tossed French bread studded with Artichoke and sautéed spinach), Cajun Friend Sweet Potato – (Finger cut sweet potatoes fried and served with chili mayo and ranch dip), Crispy Zaatar Chilli Corn- (Tossed in zaatar spices with onion and fresh green chili), Chilli Paneer Nutty Butter – (Chilli paneer tossed with butter and nuts), Cheesy Christmas tree – (Spicy cheese-stuffed bread served with ranch dip).

Non-Veg Appetizers include Gamberetti Alla Milanese (Garlic Milano Shrimps) (Sage, Basil) – (Sage marinated shrimps cooked in tomato Concasse sauce, bell pepper, onion finished with fresh basil and sage), Spiced chicken Fritter (Pollo Fritto) – (Fried chicken tossed in spicy peri-peri mayo), Cheesy Fish Finger – (Batter fried fish Fingers served with Beetroot Tartare dip), Red Pesto Chicken – (Supreme chicken spicy sumac powder marinated and grilled). Fish Cake With Mango Avocado Relish – (Pan-seared fish cakes served with mango avocado salsa), Vodka Chilli Chicken – (Slice chicken cooked with vodka and chef special chili sauce), Cheesy Bites Chicken – (Spicy marinated chunked chicken-filled into the pastry and baked).

The main course has Pot Short Chicken with creamy polenta – (Small cut chicken pieces served with creamy polenta and seasonal vegetable), Black Pepper Chicken with wild mushroom and onion mash – (Marinated chicken grilled and cooked in mushroom sauce served with onion mash), Jamb Olla Penne Pasta – (Penne Pasta cooked with Broccoli and seafood in mornay sauce), Roasted Turkey Cranberry and Red wine jus – (Roasted turkey served with roast potatoes and seasonal vegetable).

Desserts will smack you away with Chocolate Swiss Roll / Chocolate Ginger Cake with white chocolate buttercream, Xmas pudding, and brandy sauce – (Plum pudding served with brandy caramel sauce).

URU Brewpark

has a special menu curated for the festive season as also some Christmas cocktails from the 10th -31st of December 2020.

The menu will have small plates, Festive platters, and 12 special cocktails as well.

Small plates will have Vietnamese Style Chili Tofu, Classic Sicilian Arancini, Tandoori Soy Chops, Chicken Cafreal, Beer Braised Pork Ribs, and Bafat Spice Tiger Prawns. The Festive Platters will have the Turkey Platter and Chicken Platter. Chicken Platter will have slow-roasted chicken served with honey-roasted sweet potato, maple glazed pumpkin, country roasted potato & apple chestnut stuffing topped with Chef’s signature Cranberry and Giblets Sauce.  Turkey Platter will have the roasted Turkey breast and slow confit leg served with honey-roasted sweet potato, maple glazed pumpkin, country roasted potato, and apple chestnut stuffing topped with Chef’s signature cranberry and giblets sauce.

The dessert – the Plum pudding served with crème anglaise. There would be 12 special cocktails, to name a few:
