Bengaluru: Inventure Academy is hosting the Innovation & Entrepreneurship Conclave for School Leaders 2022-2023 on 14 and 15 December 2022, in collaboration with Graduate School of Education, University of Pennsylvania (UPenn GSE). This follows the success of The Educators’ Conclave in 2020-2021 which was aimed at bringing the community of educators closer together, especially post pandemic when schools had to pivot to online schooling literally overnight.
The aim of this year’s Conclave is to build a larger ecosystem of innovation and entrepreneurship in the field of education. This is an area that Inventure Academy is very passionate about and is a recognised thought leader.
Facilitated by Inventure and U Penn GSE team members, participants will ideate on innovative teaching and learning practices to make each participating schools’ vision / the New Education Policy (NEP) a reality. The conclave will be attended by Heads of Schools, Subject matter experts, Curriculum development leads from leading schools across Bangalore and India, including Doon School (Dehradun), Daly College (Indore), Mallya Aditi International School (Bangalore), Emerald Heights International School (Indore), The Millennium School (Dubai) and Vidyashilp Academy (Bangalore).
The conclave will be a culmination of the eight-month Penn GSE Entrepreneurship & Innovation Certificate Program journey of 36 faculty members from Inventure Academy. Inventure team members will present their Capstone projects demonstrating the use of key tools learnt, across a range of areas including building a new schools culture, Inventure’s High School Diploma, learner agency, digital citizenship and interdisciplinary learning.
There will also be stimulating sessions with Nooraine Fazal (Co-Founder, Inventure Academy) and Dr Sumer Singh (President – Boarding Schools Association of India), Dr Barbara Kurshan and Dr Jenny Zapf from the Graduate School of Education, University of Pennsylvania (Penn GSE), and best practice presentations by some of the participating schools.
In line with its thinking that the new world needs new learning, Inventure Academy has invested about INR 1.10 crores this academic year to ensure that its faculty is equipped to enable children to be prepared for the opportunities and challenges of the emerging world.

Inventure Academy’s leadership team has supported its teachers through their journey of ideating, conceptualizing, creating and implementing prototypes / pilots using the tools learnt through the Certificate Program and the ‘real world test’ that the pandemic provided.
The Graduate School of Education, University of Pennsylvania Entrepreneurship & Innovation in Education Certificate program
This program blends expertise, research, and practice from the University of Pennsylvania’s Schools of Education, Design, Engineering, and Wharton. Resources and stories from industry leaders, investors, and EdTech entrepreneurs will also be shared and examined. This certificate program provides the critical knowledge, skills, and tools needed to develop, accelerate, and scale entrepreneurial practice in education.
Dr. Barbara “Bobbi” Kurshan is the President of Educorp Consultants Corporation and Senior Innovation Advisor, Graduate School of Education, Education Entrepreneurship, University of Pennsylvania, and a former education industry entrepreneur. The author of several books, Dr. Kurshan has more than 40 years’ experience in education as a researcher, entrepreneur, developer, investor, and company executive. She developed the first children’s software products for Microsoft, as well as award winning products for McGraw-Hill, Apple, CCC (Pearson), and others.
Dr Jenny Zapf is a Senior Fellow and the Founding Director of the world’s first M.S.Ed. and M.S.Ed.-MBA in Education Entrepreneurship at the Graduate School of Education, University of Pennsylvania and the Wharton School of Business. She is also the Co-Founder and Faculty Director of Penn GSE’s virtual certificate program in Global Education Entrepreneurship & Innovation. A global leader in education innovation, she has trained thousands of education, business, and industry professionals to build, test, manage, and scale new models.
