Varshikotsav Event Details and Venue
The celebratory concert is scheduled for Sunday, November 23rd, 2025, commencing at 5:30 PM at the prestigious Chowdiah Memorial Hall in Bengaluru. All music lovers are welcome to attend this program, which is offered free of charge, reflecting Sursagar’s commitment to accessibility and the promotion of fine music in Bengaluru.

Featured Performances: A Confluence of Masters and Prodigies
The 43rd Varshikotsav presents a double bill of exceptional Hindustani classical music, offering a rich experience for the rasikas (connoisseurs) of music in Bengaluru.
The evening will open with a captivating performance by Ojas Adhiya, a top-ranking percussionist celebrated as a child prodigy. This segment is a special tribute to the Tabla maestro, Ustad Zakir Hussain. Ojas, accompanied by the eminent flautist Ashwin Srinivasan, will showcase the versatility of the tabaliya in both solo and accompaniment roles alongside the flute.
The second program will feature a magnificent vocal recital by the internationally renowned veteran, Pt. Vinayak Torvi, as he celebrates his 75th year. Gifted with a powerful, resonant voice, technical expertise, and aesthetic creativity, Pandit Torvi’s music is consummate. He received rigorous training under the gurukul system as a disciple of Gayanacharya Gururao Deshpande (Gwalior Gharana) and Bharat Ratna Pt. Bhimsen Joshi (Kirana Gharana). Pandit Torvi will be accompanied by Pt. Ravindra Yavagal on the tabla and Pt. Vyasmurti Katti on the harmonium. Beyond his accomplishments as a performing musician, Torvi ji has made a profound contribution to the preservation and promotion of the art form in Southern India, further enriching the landscape of music in Bengaluru.
