The SG Club, ranked No. 23 in Asia’s 50 Best Bars for 2024, is known for its dedication to craftsmanship, tradition, and artistry in cocktail-making. This collaboration with MURO is more than just a bar takeover; it’s a cultural exchange that highlights the deep-rooted traditions of Japanese hospitality, known as Omotenashi. Originally tied to the tea ceremonies (sado), this philosophy of sincere, gracious service permeates Japanese culture and will be the guiding principle for the MURO team during this exclusive event.
For two nights, MURO will transform into a Japanese-style cocktail haven on its mezzanine deck for the #InTheHouse series. The event will be a celebration of fresh, seasonal ingredients, skilfully prepared with a local twist, incorporating elements like shiso and yuzu. Expect a variety of drinks with fizzy, sweet-and-sour profiles and herbaceous, boozy complexities that reflect the unique flavours of Japan.
Leading the experience will be Reoma Mita, the Head Mixologist at SG Club, who will introduce Bangalore to the intricacies of Japanese cocktails. From the iconic Hard Shake to the precision of jewel-cut ice spheres, every detail of the evening will reflect the refined hospitality and meticulous craftsmanship that define the SG Club. Mita will also share stories and insights into the rich history of Japanese cocktails, offering guests a rare glimpse into the secrets of Tokyo’s hidden bars.
