12 Women Artists To Collaborate For World Art Day’s “Bande Bharat”

On the occasion of World Art Day 2022, UNIVART and AIAP, official partners of UNESCO organize art events all over India. On the birth anniversary of Leonardo Da Vinci, the International Association of Art (IAA) official partner of UNESCO in India, observed World Art Day promote international collaboration through art.

This year it is also a celebration of Azadika Amrit Mahotsav, the 75th year of Independence, and the 150th birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore. The image of the Bharat Mata created by Rabindranath Tagore inspired the movement of freedom struggle. Honoring the movement of Independence, IAA has decided upon the theme of “Bande Bharat” for the commemoration of World Art Day 2022.

Women were an essential part of this struggle which had not been properly represented in the written history of India. This art show being held also wishes to highlight the power and initiative of women in the national movement during the celebration of art.

Art is a manifestation of our own self through its aesthetic ideas and emotions in mind manifested on a canvas through shapes and colors. In these dire times, when the world is fighting a war to safeguard health, battles with the economy and social conflicts creates equal burden. The situation of war in the world has created physical and mental trauma among people. In this time of crisis, when the world is suffering from economic and psychological trauma, art has become a primary source of solace.

There are twelve women artists who are participating in this art event on the 15th and 16th of April, in Time and Space Art Gallery.
